CLT sound isolation

NEVIMA BRINGS THE SOUND INSULATION OF CLT STRUCTURES TO A HIGH LEVEL

CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) is a sustainable and emerging alternative to commonly used building materials such as concrete and steel. It is formed by gluing several layers of (spruce) wood crosswise together. This construction makes it stronger, stiffer and more stable than is normally the case with wood. CLT is used in new construction for floors and/or walls of homes to complete apartment complexes, schools and offices. CLT scores excellent on sustainability, but unfortunately not on sound insulation. Of course, Nevima, which has been sustainable since 1927, has a number of solutions for this that make both durability and sound insulation excellent.

INSULATE AIRBORNE AND IMPACT NOISE ON THE UNDERSIDE

When it is decided to insulate CLT floors on the underside for practical reasons, Nevima has a number of solutions. These reasons can be; hiding pipes, a CLT floor with a lower visual quality or the requirement for better edge safety. Here too, good decoupling is essential. Nevima has carried out tests with a system in which a limited cavity already leads to good results, the IVI Metal Ceiling DH (direct pendant).
